For one reason or another (which, if known, is elaborated upon below), many of these games were ‘missing’ from the PS5 event.

Call of Duty 2020
Prior to the event, rumors about about Call of Duty 2020, whether that’s officially titled Call of Duty Black Ops or Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, were abound about it being revealed there. On the one hand, it made perfect sense because Call of Duty games are usually revealed well before June, and it was already passed its typical May reveal date. Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt though, such is the case here. Some big Call of Duty insiders confirmed just before the event that it wouldn’t be there; instead, the plan is for a live event in Call of Duty: Warzone to reveal Call of Duty 2020. Recent reports indicate this won’t be soon, however.
Silent Hill
A lot of horror fans had high expectations for the show, and with the confirmation of Resident Evil 8, no one was disappointed. Rumors and leaks had pegged a new Silent Hill game for the show, but those turned out untrue. However, one of the most prominent leakers in this specific area, Dusk Golem, was never 100% it would be there, but he was certain with RE8. Golem still seems confident that a new Silent Hill in the works, so fans will just need to wait and see what and where it comes from.
Final Fantasy 16/7 Remake
Several big wigs in the industry commented on the possibility of Final Fantasy appearing at the event in some form, whether that’s the to-be-announced Final Fantasy 16 many predicted would have a summer reveal or an update on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake (a PS5 version or Part 2). Nonetheless, neither were there despite many hoping there would be. There’s not much in the way in explanation as to why not, but at the same time, there was really no tease or hint that it would be. Many want an update on the next part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, so hopefully, at least that comes some time soon.
Bloodborne
Bloodborne is another name that has been on everyone’s tongue, yet it was not at the show. Bluepoint Games did confirm its Demon’s Souls remake, so it’s not that surprising; after all, rumor has it that Bloodborne is coming to PC. Having both games there would be a bit over board, so while this still seems likely, players should expect it to come somewhere else later this summer. As a PC port, the likeliest thing at this time is the upcoming PC Gaming Show.
God of War
Arguably, Sony’s biggest exclusive franchises right now are Spider-Man, Horizon, and God of War. So the fact that 2/3 were there is more than enough for some fans, as the standalone Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon: Forbidden West was more than what many expected. There’s little doubt that a God of War sequel is in development, and that fact alone is a PS5 console seller. Since it released in 2018 and would be a full-blown sequel, it’s not surprising that it’s currently MIA. There’s no doubt that it’ll eventually happen, though, so fans should just be patient for the return of Kratos and Atreus.
The PS5 releases holiday 2020.
